Southern California’s Top Executives Reveal New Government Regulation and Compliance Strategies at Executive Next Practices Forum

Mimi’s Café, Fisher & Phillips, LLP and Employers Group Executives Come Together to Share Insight with Orange County Executives on New Legislative Policies and Strategies

IRVINE, Calif. (March 9, 2011) – The Executive Next Practices Forum (ENP), a mastermind group for C-level executives to review leadership and business strategy, welcomedTim Pulido, president of Mimi’s Café; John Polson, senior partner at Fisher & Phillips, LLP; and Mark Wilbur, CEO of Employers Group to moderate its March 3 event on government regulation and strategic compliance. The event, “How to Leverage Regulatory Compliance for Competitive Advantage,” drew a standing room only group of  topSouthern California business leaders.
“The regulatory environment is only going to become more intense and difficult in the future, making it extremely important that companies take action now,” says Pulido. “It’s essential for business leaders to develop a culture of compliance, and to become active and have a strong voice of advocacy to influence future regulation and legislation.”
Thursday’s event encouraged business leaders to uncover solutions for navigating complex business legislation in 2011. Moderated by Pulido, Polson and Wilbur, the session reviewed legislation that has already passed and advised C-level attendees to collaborate on strategies that successfully and cost-effectively manage the risk of non-compliance. Participants left with a better understanding of state and federal government regulation and tactics to engage their contemporaries. A key theme established during the event was the importance of communication from the C-level to its workforce.
“Just a couple of years ago, union organization was rare inSouthern California. That trend has dramatically changed, and our region is now the second most robust area of the country forming unions,” says Polson, who encouraged attendees to be proactive when it comes to new business legislation. “Keeping an open line of communication and maintaining employee satisfaction is essential to prevent union organization and government infringement on your company.”
The ENP gives its members a unique experience by implementing a highly-interactive session format with top-level speakers on inventive topics in strategic and tactical business practices. Rather than a “fly-by” networking experience, the ENP provides an environment for C-level executives to work together and build strong relationships.
As an exclusive mastermind group, the ENP follows a “next practices” development method, unique from other  organizations or associations. This approach is more effective and aligned with the goals of its members. Attendance is restricted to qualified senior internal executives and their key advisors (HR, CFO, CMO, COO).
The next ENP session will be held on Thursday, May 5 with special guest speaker Larry Emond, CMO of Gallup Worldwide. The session, “Leading From Strength and Leveraging Engagement for Extraordinary Growth and Profitability ,” begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Taco Bell worldwide headquarters in the Irvine Spectrum – 1 Glen Bell Way, Irvine, CA92618. Registration on or before April 10 is $65, and increases to $95 thereafter. To register for the May 5 event, visit www.regonline.com/ocmay2011.
